Ford Focus ST170 2003 - Requires new MAF, does the ECU need to be reset? #

Year of Manufacture *: 2003
Engine Code or Type *: ALDA

Need to change MAF sensor but I am told ECU needs to be reset.Nothing is listed on Modus or Launch,is it just a matter of disconnecting battery or is it a Ford only job?
