Jim, you were correct. Harness to the connector was chaffed and the connector itself was green with corrosion. Cleaned and made good and all is well. When I saw the vehicle yesterday, I could only spend about 20 mins on it and the same was applicable today. Dealer was desperate (money had changed hands) and wanted a fix urgently. Originally booked it in for Tuesday next week for a proper look so he was well pleased for the "bending over backwards" to which we are all accustomed. Thanks.
