It does have the ECU bolted to the inlet manifold (What genius at Vauxhall thought that one up!?). I tried bridging the two 5v feed wires. It wouldn't start! I like the cam sensor theory as, as I said, the engine is slightly different. It wouldn't surprise me if the cam sensor was different too. Got to be worth a try!
