Year of Manufacture *: 1997 Engine Code or Type *: 1400 ( Optional ) Scanner used: flash code
Nissan came in poor idle cutting out since motorway thrash. Cleaned idle control valve and checked adjustment of throttle switch. still no better. found an air bypass screw which got us a reasonable idle it idled with the switch/potentiometer disconnected. however fan didnt cut in and mil light now flashing which it didnt before to be fair . Customer says that these faults were not present when he brought it in! fan is ecu controlled . run flash code and it gives 14 long flashes and 3 short which according to the table is code 143 but i cant find 143 listed anywhere. it will clear using the proceedure but comes back within 5 mins. What i want is to identify this code and then i can tell this guy where to get off. he is acusing us of blowing the ecu cos he saw us with a power probe which i hasten to add was used only to power the fanup not introduce a live into the ecu. people like this guy make me want to shut the doors and hang up my spanners! Anyway any help would be great here. thanks
