Thanks for your quick response. You make a valid point because initially there was also a code for Tank vent valve which was caused by an incorrect connection. I believe the connector for the KS is correct because I did a continuity check down to the correct pin on the ECU.
The other thing I tried was run a wire from the KS to battery negative to ensure a good earth. I have also asked the customer to verify engine code and part number to ensure no mis-match. (Straw clutching).
