Year of Manufacture *: 2001
Engine Size and Code *: 2.0L AQY
( Optional ) Scanner Used: VCDS
( Optional) Fault Codes: P0172
I have the above vehicle that when driven on a run the fault code of P0172 - Fuel Trim; Bank 1: System Too Rich appears
Freeze Frame Data for address 10
PID02 DTC that caused freeze frame data storage: P0172
PID03 Fuel system 1/2 status: Closed loop, using O2 sensors
PID04 Calculated load value: 4.3 %
PID05 Engine coolant temperature: 96 °C
PID06 Short Term Trim - Bank 1: -15.6 %
PID07 Long Term Trim - Bank 1: 5.5 %
PID12 Engine RPM: 807 /min
PID13 Vehicle speed: 0 km/h
Have looked at live data and have found that when the purge solenoid is is being controlled by the ECU the fuel trim Quickly goes approx 12% lean to correct a rich mixture then after about 30 sec the fuel trims go approx 12% rich to correct a lean mixture for several minutes
Is this usual for this model?
as i thought that the engine calibration would be pre programed to to compensate opening the purge solenoid
Red=STFT Green=LTFT Yellow=CTS
Thanks in advance
Terry
