Had exactly the same code out of a 2001 318i yesterday using Autodiagnos,veh had failed to start from cold then fired up leaving mil on but running ok now,investigation found that if you struck(by hand) the underside of the tank when the veh wouldnt start the fuel pump would spring into life.New assy fitted £95+vat from GSF and all ok.This veh in question had covered 125k.
