Hi, i have a 2001 (51 plate) Skoda Fabia 1.4mpi (AQW engine code).
First checked vehicle about a week ago for EMS light on, code read and found P0116 - coolant temp sensor 1 circuit/range performance.
I found sensor has had leak around as there was quite alot of residue from red O.A.T coolant around the retaining clip, i replaced sensor, cleaned surrounding area and wiring connectors, cleared all stored dtcs etc.
Light has since come back on, again P0116. all wiring clean etc. The engine itself is slightly lumpy on tickover and has slight oil/water cream in oil cap. Once again i have cleared dtcs and i will fit launch c-recorder as im certain it will happen again.
Im sure someone will of had similar problem as VAG do have issues will ECT sensors.
