Vehicle has done around 36k engine code is F14D3. This has done the rounds been to three garages and the customer has had issues with it since they bought it second hand.
Customer claims it has got worse as time as gone on and been even worse since cold weather. Now the vehicle is drivable for about 1 min before it runs poor, and its an auto so soon as you stick it in drive it will cut out.
You can start this from cold fires up fine on all cylinders then after about 1 min it will go down to 2 cylinders running rich (CO.....14%) then cut out will start sometimes but because of the excessive fuel, its flooded and sounds like it has no compression. it will fire up after being left for a while then the same process starts again.
Can only get into this with OBD, fault code P0300 and P0700, using scan master it also finds an unknown protocol.
It has come to me with shiny new parts fitted, ECT sensor ignition coil, plugs, leads.......
What i have observed is that on start up injection duration is around 5-6ms, MAP is around 2v (approx 48 kpa) after a while Map Voltage increases, Injection duration increases to 11ms then it runs very poor and cuts out .
I was thinking that the injection duration is an effect of the map reading, checking back pressure with gauge reads zero,
I was coming to the conclusion that this could be down to a mechanical fault like inlet valves not closing or something along those lines
I have scoped the crank, cam, cylinder one injector and map started engine and let it idle until it cuts out
