Following on from Dave Harney's post:
If you have only got two channels you may get some idea of the timing if you pull the fuel pump fuse and scope starter cranking amps and an ignition event. With a bit of math you will be able to roughly see where in degrees the ignition event is happening in regards to TDC.
(this is not 100% accurate)
