We had this fault on an A3 so cannot give specifics but there was a valve assembly that did crankcase breathers and inlet manifold pipes and the valve became faulty and that was throwing up mixture faults. On an A3 I could tell you where the valve is but all I can suggest on the mini is check all pipes vacuum and crankcase and look for valve in the system.
