This fault code is so well documented here, I will bet my back teeth this had an aftermarket cat fitted, the only aftermarket cat that I have found to work is from B and M, although the fit can sometimes need modifying, need Stephen to come back with a bit more information.

There was a thread on BBA forums a little while ago where it took 4 cats from 4 different aftermarket suppliers before one worked !
