I have a e46 BMW 316 saloon, it hesitates when setting of and feels under powered.
The fault codes i am getting are 2862 - VVT power supply , this will never clear and 2865 - Power Supply Limit VVT - Emergency,
this will clear but will come back once running. I have changed the VVT actuator and eccentric shaft sensor and also the VVT control unit but still cannot clear code.
I have checked all the wiring from the VVT control unit and also the wiring from the ECU but there does not seem to be a fault. The green and black wire that should ground the main power supply relay through the VVT unit is not present, so there is no power to the VVT control unit, however is this because it is in limp home mode. All main power supply and grounds have be checked and loaded up but still not fault found. There appears to be no other faults with the car and not other codes are in the vehicle memory.
