Are you thinking of the battery in the alarm siren? I have replaced many sirens because the internal battery has leaked over the PCB. Usually at 8-10 years of age though and this is much newer. The sysmptoms can be rather unpredictable. You could try disconnecting the siren, it will certainly stop it going off
