Year of Manufacture *: 2007
Engine Size and Code *: 3.2 fsi
( Optional) Fault Codes: P0346 bank 2 implausible signal
I've taken a brief look at this Audi A4 3.2 FSI,car has lumpy tickover and fault code p0346 bank 2 , implausible camshaft signal, keeps coming back when started.
Car drives fine and no rattles heard from timing chain area.
I've swapped all 4 cam sensors over from opposing banks. fault still the same, and scope waveforms do not change.
Scope waveforms are different (see attached )
Ross tech Wiki suggests, these engines suffer with camshaft adjusters binding.
My question is there any point in trying to flush, clean adjuster valve and change oil, or will the engine need stripping.
Bank 2 waveform below Bank 1 is the second photo
Any suggestions welcome
thanks Joe
