Year of Manufacture: 2012
Engine Size and Code: 1.0 M2DA
Ive got this horrible 3 cyl ecoboost in for an engine rebuild and mistakenly released the fixings for the Variable cam sprocket on the exhaust cam so the spring that holds the mechanism has come undone.
I've got it stripped down on the bench and I'm not sure if the coiled spring should go the same way round as it does in the inlet sprocket or the opposite way.
The base setting on the inlet sprocket is advanced when oil pressure is allowed, pushing against the spring. Should this be the same on the exhaust sprocket or the other way round (retarding when oil pressure allowed)?
Hope threre's some ecoboost expert out there that can help!
Thanks.
Colin
