Not sure about Audi, but last week we had two cars not starting when hot. A Megane 2.0ide and a Mercedes c220cdi both cars lost the signal from the camshaft sensor and would not start. When the engine cooled down the signal would return and engine would start. New camshaft sensors fixed both of these cars. hth
