    Hi Guys,
    Bit of info for those interested.
    As an Auto-Electrician I do a lot of these repairs (and a lot of re-repairs where people have been before). Just soldering the break does not last, neither does using normal wire, I use Extraflex test lead wire from RS Components (rswww.com)and another similar one from Farnell components.
    I usually make up a loom 6 inches long, pull it through the boot, connect up each end and then feed the surplus back into each panel.
    Using this technique I have NEVER had a customer return with the wires broken again.
    If anyone is interested I will post the part numbers I use.
