Hi All.
Nissan Terrano II 2.7 Diesel. W reg, 1999/2000. R20 chassis type. Electronic rotary pump. NATS immo system with red chip in key.The vehicle was driven OK to the supemarket, came back out, started, with slightly extended crank, pulled forward out of parking space & just stopped. Wouldn't restart. Cranks, just doesn't fire.
Recovered it. No power to stop soleniod. When cranking the MIL light was on , the NATS led was off.
Connected JAK5900 scanner (similar to other types). went into engine read codes out. (14 pin nissan dlc)
Fuel temp sensor (intermitant)
Assist pretenioner (grnd/short) permanent.
reset fuel temp sensor code & checked out ok on live data.
I then checked rest of live data, crank rpm is there, pump rpm missing, all other data seems OK. I went into actuators, & drove the pump stop solenoid & 12volts is applied to it.
Then I noticed the MIL light was flashing, I disconnected scanner & still it was flashing, which indicates a NATS immo problem. Went back in, read codes, sometimes I get Assist pretenioner (grnd/short) permanent.
, sometimes Assist A/B module L/H open circuit, or sometimes both.
NATs led flashes when I have locked the doors, but stays off all other times, i.e. seems normal operation.
Did the scanner set the NATS off? or was the system just not playing ball until I read the codes? light was just on before & now flashing.
I manually flashed the engine ecu codes & got 1401 + 1402,. (141 & 142 according to Bosch) which indicates immo fault
The only data I have is for a slightly later 16 pin model, but said codes 1400 upwards was NATS fault.
Tried disconnecting battery, still the same. Checked all the fuses.
I have nothing to look at immo, dealer can look at it for me in 11 days time.
Any ideas on this one?
