Yes it would! I had a Bedford CF Diesel a few yeas back that had been moved (in gear) with the head off. The timing was 180 derees out It ran surprisingly well allbiet smokey & very poor performance. (We had no experience of the vehicle prior to the fault) The fact that it would not start from cold was what made us look further. Regards Dave Hill
