I had this on a Punto last week and was told by Snap-On help line to rev it over 6000rpm momentarily 3 times in succession allowing it to idle in between, after 3rd revving allow it to idle then switch it off. Restart and the light should go out, it worked fine for me and seemed to idle more smoothly as well.
I guess the cambelt was okay as well!
