    Peugeot 106 HFZ/ECU MM1AP 1999 - Running on 3 cylinders Archived Message

Got called to this one at a local garage. It is running on 3 cylinders. Garage has tried 2 x Coil packs (s/hand) and changed plugs (from Bosch to NGK).
The fault codes are 0708 - Ign coil 1 Driver OC or SC and 1710 Igntion Coil 2 OC or Sc to ground. Both faults are described as intermittent. The scope traces on the trigger signals to the coil pack are always good
Although it is running on 3 cylinders it is not always the same 3. It is dropping either cyl 1 or cyl 4. When I do an Engine balance the HC's for the affected cylinder are shown to be about 200 ppm as if that injector is shutting down.
I've looked through the archives and found a reference to the type of plug causing a problem but they have already been changed....

    ECU problem...?
