Saab 9-5, 2001, 2.3T (185hp). Intermittent MIL illumination. Archived Message

    Hi all,
This Saab is putting the check engine lamp on intermittently.

    Fault codes:
    P1312 - Ignition coil - Knock detection. cylinders 1+2
    P1334 - Ignition coil - Knock detection. cylinders 3+4

    Freeze Fame:
Fuel system 1 - Open Loop
    Load (%) - 23.1
    ECT (deg. C.) - 98
    STFT % - 0.0
    LTFT % - -3.1
    MAP (kPa) - 47
    RPM - 835
    Road Speed - 0

As I understand it, this engine measures ionization current at spark plugs to determine cylinder recognition and to detect knock so I checked the plugs first. They were the wrong kind so I replaced with OE and hoped that would be the end of it. But light came on again a few days later with same codes.
The car has done 30,000 miles with one careful lady owner! There are no other symptoms and it starts and drives perfectly.
Any ideas/suggestions welcome. Many thanks...Phil Huelin.
