Ford Fiesta 1.25cc 1999 - Revs hanging up at 12000 to 15000 Archived Message

    Hi to all
have the above vehicle in again, was in a few weeks back with revs hanging up @1200-1500rpm, should say vehicle has done over 101000 miles and still on original engine. The first time it was in removed throttle body and idle valve gave both a good clean using a sonic bath, refitted with new seals and tried to set tps to @0.7 but could not so opted for replacement, which came in @0.7 volts, car running ok.
So car came back today customer complains of high fuel consumption, had a check round all pipes/connections ok plugs have been running very rich had a look for fault codes and only one which is P0108 MAP sensor wiring short to positive.
Looking at live data oxygen sensor will switch when revs increased and will keep on doing so. Then return to idle and ok for around one min , then will give slight shudder and return to open loop with fuel fault and oxygen sensor going flat line. One other thing i noticed was that on start up there was rather a lot of blue/grey smoke out of the exhaust(vehicle left over night)indicating perhaps guides/seals worn. My main question is if the code is correct why is everything working at revs above 1500, or am i missing something.
any help would be gratefully received
    peter
