1997 AUDI A3 1.6 AEH - High emmissions, no codes stored - worn engine? Archived Message

HI, am a bit stuck with this one, emissions high,
    co 4.5%
    lamda o.84
    o2 0.3
    hc 600
have checked fault codes and none stored, have scoped oxygen sensor and have fitted new oxygen senor. also scoped maf senser, tps, and coolant temp senser, and they all tie up with pin data. if you watch the emissions from cold, everything comes into play you see the cat come into regulation and lamda reads as it should at 1.0- 0.99
then when it get hot co goes to 4.5% and lamda reading a rich mixture. have watched maf senser and lamda and coolant temp as engine warms up and they look ok. have had ecu checked and come back ok. there is quite a bit of white smoke from exhuast, im thinking there might be a fault in head or the gasket, but car doesnt over heat, have done chemical test and came up negative. any ideas? sorry for the speal. cheers john
