    Hi Alan,
    VAG vehicles do have this sort of problem with MAF sensors! Have you tried scoping the O2 sensor. It should go high once throttle pressed confirming fuel enrichment, and I think has to stay high during acceleration. If stays low, or goes low after quick high, will be too lean... Perhaps someone else will confirm this.
