    Hi All

    Vauxhall Tigra 1997 1.4 DOHC
    Eng: X14XE Multec F
Fault Code P0340 Camshaft sensor incorrect signal

This vehicle has come in from another garage that replaced the head gasket before xmas, now the above fault code is present, you can clear but comes back within 5 seconds with MIL on, they fitted a new cam sensor (aftermarket), but no difference. This has the crank sensor on the outside by the pulley

I have checked the cam timing and tension of the new belt fitted (fraction under tension), refitted the original cam sensor. Checked earths to manifold and head plus the security of the round loom multiplug. Scoped the cam sensor at tickover and 2500rpm, do they look ok??

The cam sensor plug description (loom side) has 3 pins according to ESi and Snap-on troubleshooter, tested KOEO:

    A Ign Voltage
    B Signal
    C Shield/Ground

    When i checked i had

    A Ground
    B Signal
    C Ing Voltage (ok)

    Got 12v across A and C

    KOER:

Waveform from B and good earth

    What am i missing?

    Peter
