Hi john , a common problem on this engine with emission faults is an air pipe splitting on top of the inlet manifold . Remove the cover over the injector rail held on with two 10mm bolts under the cover you will see a black air pipe running along side the injector rail (fuel pipe size diameter ) you will probably find this split and pulling in air . A replacement is available from the main dealer aprox £30 or you can make your own with fuel pipe if in a hurry.
