Hi guys many thanks, this being a Renault was not going to be easy, since my post I parked up in yard waiting for replies and sat and cleared all the self induced codes from major manifold strip. I watched live data on hand set especially Millibars, O2 and inj duration with car running rough all of a sudden every thing came right except O2 only marginally switching high @ 650mv but engine ran smoothly. Having thought typical Renault I am never going to find this fault I drove for a couple of miles faultlessly. The vehicle was left over the weekend and I tried on Monday and a couple of hundred yards up the road fault was back and this time a fault code for O2 sensor was present for the first time. Many thanks Martin on the strength of what you said I replaced the O2 sensor and all was fixed. I was not sure of Marks advise I did not think this engine had variable valve timing? Does anyone have advise on removing the O2 sensor on this engine it was a pig of a job especially where they place it in the manifold? Many thanks for your advice. John Kennard.
