New type lambda sensors # Archived Message

    Hi all,
Was working on a 2003 golf 1.6 (AZD) the other day. MIL was on and 2 dtc were EGR and Coolant fan. When doing a sweep of the sensors I came across the lambda sensor actual value stuck at 450mV. On conventional systems this would indicate an open circuit, faulty lambda driver in ecu, etc, etc. When studying the circuit diagram and expected pinouts, the lambda sensor is of a 6-wire type and pinout values show that you SHOULD expect to see a steady 450mV.
I have had a few cars with these newer type sensors. Can anyone point me in the right direction to learn about this type of sensor.
    Thanks,
    Kiran.
