Hi Joe. Before Starting to strip this Heap, try to get the Ford Bulletin. ( Only came around last week after we struggled with one ) And Price the job up so that you know what your letting yourself and the customer in for. I think the ECU was £366,00 + vat and The Dealers advised a new Harness at £563.00 + vat. ( but on the bulletin it say's there is a terminal repair kit available) Plus a day or mores Labour. When you remove the plug, Some of the terminals will stay in the plug rather than in the ecu. Ohh and Then when all that is done, It is likely to be on Coded Access to make things a little more difficult for you. We Managed to Strip and Repair our Ecu by soldering a fly lead onto one of the terminals and connecting it externally to the harness. P.S. Seeing as the feed to the coil comes from the Fuel pump reay, it will only be there for a few seconds when the ignition is turned on or when it's actually cranking, ( assuming Crank sensor etc is working, But that doesn't explain your lack of Comms. )
