    Vauxhall Astra 1.6 8v 2001 X16SZR - Light misfire from about 1200 rpm # Archived Message

This Astra has a light misfire from about 1200 rpm to roughly 2000(it is most noticeable anyway )it is not cylinder specific, needless to say there are no fault codes. It has that type of misfire you used to get when the ignition timing was overadvanced, at 1200 the timing is running at 32 degrees, have no figures for it so not sure if that is ok or not. The gas readings are all good(misfire does not improve if carb cleaner is lightly sprayed into the throttle body either), cam timing is correct and there is no wear on the crankshaft pulley, I know that ECUs are bad on these but wondered also if there were any software updates to eradicate this fault, thanks, Jim.
