Volvo 760 GLE - High idle # Archived Message

    Hi All,
I know it's an old one, but still loved and cherished by someone. Garage changed starter motor and left off small terminal lead from motor as new one didn't have connector to fit. I think this might relate to cold start injector/thermo-time switch, though garage said was live and engine cut when grounded...however may be red herring. Since this work only idles about right if Air Control Valve disconnected. While rest of wiring in eng comp. good condition, engine loom wiring rotten and disintegrating! Told garage wiring needs to be sorted out first which have elected to do themselves, and to then contact me. This is the CI (fuel distributor) system, but with Air Control Valve rather than Auxillary Air Valve, and looks like an add on. I think this might be called a 'Constant Idle System'. If I'm right about this, is there a control module for this system, and where is it? Have looked behind kick panels both sides!
    Many thanks,
    Nick Bell
