Afternoon all, we have an intermittent fault on a 1999 Astra 1.6 8v SPI X16SZR.
The car will start on high idle then will surge and not rev then when it worms up it runs ok, until left for a short time, then the fault returns. This happened when the car was filled up with petrol. I have checked with my serial tool, no faults and it doesn’t support live data on this MULTEC ZE system. I have totally draned the tank and checked the pickup in the tank which is o/k and put 10 ltr of new fuel in and checked the fuel filter o/k.
I have checked plugs etc all good,
    Scope lambda sensor fit new,
    Scope map sensor fit new,
    Scope crank sensor test o/k,
    Scope TPS test o/k,
    Scope ECS fit new,
Test with vac gauge 19 in HG ok,
Test fuel pressure 0.75 bar and good flow,
Scope injector, low injection time but looks good and good current 3 A,
I have removed the EGR valve and blanked the holes with a plate which made no difference and checked battery and ignition feeds and earths to the ECU all o/k.
There is battery feed to the injector and I have removed the injector to look at the filter which is clean. I can keep the car running at the time of the fault with carb clean the injector scope trace is good at the same time so I think it may be the injector at fault? Any input would be appreciated thanks, Martin.
