Mercedes Benz A160 1999 - Intermittently does not start, cranks over but not fire # Archived Message

Hallo. This vehicle (Mercedes A class A160)intermittently does not start up. It will crank over but not fire. And then at some stage it will just start up again! And go OK for weeks! Customer has had it happen several times.A few weeks before I got it it was towed to an another workshop, but when it got there it started!. When it arrived here it did not start. I managed to scan(Bosch KTS) the engine and it showed me : No codes stored. On data stream it told me it recognised the key etc, basically indicating what I would consider that the immobilizer seems ok.At this stage it still did not fire up.Unfortunately when I contemplated my next course of action and started to hook my scope up to the coilpack to check for ignition output/switching, the vehicle fired right up the moment I turned the key! It has not faulted since!( One day ago).My question is: Are there any common problems with these vehicles giving this kind of symptom I should look for?

Thanks in advance for any help offered.
