This BMW has a fault that causes the engine to surge at idle hot. It does this in an exaggerated style revving up and down between 800 and 1400rpm. Its ok cold and after changing the oil seperator/breather valve it only does it after idling for one minute ish.
There are no fault codes or drivability issues. I can not detect any air leaks, split hoses or emission faults.
The Siemans engine management system is BMS46 and the engine features electronically controlled valve timing end valve lift!
Has anyone had any experience with these systems?
I believe the ECU to be jacking the throttle open and closed but can not see why. Could be a job for the dealer but do not want to give in now.
    Thanks
    Chris.
