Had one of these this week.

I thought it would be the usual accumulator separation problem, but after a quick look proved it was still in tact.

I noticed that the offside fuel tank cavity that the fuel pump is situated in was dry & the pump was sucking air.

After adding a litre of fuel to the pump side of the tank, the car started up fine. Soon though, the pump area was drained & again it stalled.

I replaced the accumulator/module under the nearside tank inspection plate & it fixed it.

It seems that the single fuel pump feeds the accumulator & a percentage of that fuel is fed into the nearside tank chamber. A proportion of this fuel is then drawn back to the offside tank chamber (by magic it seems )

Anyway, if you get a similar situation were you have 1/3 rd of a tank on the fuel gauge & no fuel in the offside pump chamber then you know what to do.

Also, if the clear, corrugated pipe from the pump is discoloured black, then the pump should be considered to be fubar.

    HTH
