    Airflow meter sounds possible. We change loads of these for the exact same running fault that you describe. Chucks up various misfire fault codes due to excessively weak mixture. Check live data and note lambda sensor voltage. If it goes lean when you rev the engine, make sure there are no air leaks that could bypass the MAF first, then try replacing it. We've found that these systems are able to compensate for a low MAF voltage. The fault often only rears its ugly head when the battery goes flat or is disconnected, causing the ECU to reset.
