    Hi Tom. The immobiliser control unit is same Unit as the Transponder ring around the ignition switch, The Other part of it is inside the ecu.

    I have had a couple with similar faults to yours which turned out to be faulty ecu's. ( only proven by guesswork and substitution ) Which is the easiest way if you just happen to have a Tech 2 and a spare ecu on stock, Not so easy if you have to stick your neck out and buy one to try.

    If you can get your hands on a used Ecu and immo box with a Key, you can swap the chip over to the cars own key and it should run. If you Go the used Route, Get the Chassis no and Reg no in case you ever need to get the immo code to Program new keys etc at a later date.

    oh. P.S. Just thought, Just make sure that it hasn't got any silly Japanese or wrong Spark plugs fitted in it before Condemning the ecu.
