    Hi Peter
    it appears your scanner is giving the ecu sensors an earth via the scan tool.

    Is this a 16 pin diag connector, if so check to see the voltages on pins 4 & 5 on car socket they should be 0V. If not you have a bad or open ground.

    If you remove ecu & open up you may find the earth return track for the sensors burnt out on the board it's normally caused by some one testing with a powerprobe & making a BOO BOO.

    The some applies to the 3 & 2 pin set up for the earlier vehicles.
