The car is a Clio 1. I've run the engine with a mitivac connected to the MAP sensor, it runs smoother but still way to lean. The exhaust was leaking just before the rear silencer so I've blocked this. The engine runs badly from cold so I don't think its a lambda signal as the sensor is not even up to temperature. I have had the ECU disconnected as it was sent away for testing. It still shows -100 on LTFT when the unit was refitted to the car. It definitely gives a figure of 91 (No - sign) for STFT. To me this shows that it is trying to richen it up, but I don't know what effect the LTFT readings are going to have on it. It has a new Bosch lambda sensor fitted, which I've scoped to confirm the live data reading and they match. I will get the cam timing checked tomorrow, but I'm still concerned about the FT figures. The customer mentioned that the car may of had some old petrol run through it as his daughter nearly ran it out of fuel and was complaining that it was running badly, he put in a gallon of fuel he had in a can in his garage for some time. He drove it to the petrol station to put some fresh fuel in it, but it still ran the same.
