Hi Sean, Yep true enough it should be the first thing to be tested not just replaced (its very good practice to test before replacing components)but in this case with the symptoms given by craig and the fact it runs fine with maf disconnected is a good indication the maf sensor being faulty, as an air leak of fueling problem(i,e injector or temp sensor etc )or ignition fault would still cause the engine to run erratically with maf disconnected as you may well know its hard to help diagnose a fault without seeing the vehicle so i just suggested what id do,thanks for pointing out that testing should be first priority though as expensive mistakes can be made presuming a component is faulty thanks alot Denholm
