We have a problem with a Bmw M3(E36)runing rough when warm, carried out emissions check, looked at fault codes (non stored) etc. Looking at actual data on Kts I noticed the actual exhaust camshaft timing was increasing and the further it got from the set point figure the worse the idle became.
Which points towards vanos unit which other than removing and refitting when replacing head gaskets I have had very little experience with them.
Has anybody had a similar problem and solved it or is there any adjustment on the vanos unit?
