Looked at this today. Customer complaint was that the vehicle had a flat spot and that it would sometime stall. Found that the MAP and evap pipes were perished so I replaced those. Road tested the vehicle and the original fault did not manifest itself but. When forward drive is engaged there is a bang and the engine nearly stalls as the drive is taken up, its not anywhere as bad when reverse is engaged. The idle speed is at 1000rpm on the vehicle rev counter and that is my problem now. Does anybody know how to get the idle speed down? I've checked for air leaks and the vacuum is steady at 20inches, the map is reading 1.38 volts at idle and the tps is reading .8volt at idle closed throttle. I’ve also given the engine new earths, and tried removing the battery earth. There were codes stored for the tps, map and VSS, these have all cleared and not reappeared , yet!
    Any help would be appreciated
