Thanks for the little nugget. Left it so long in answering to see what the outcome was going to be.
Did attempt to open the ECU unfortunately a tad heavy handed and broke a capaciter of the circuit board. Customer would not go for new ECU anyway but he found 2nd hand unit which was put on about 4 weeks ago and all seems well.
