VW beetle X reg 2.0 petrol - lateral acceleration sensor faultArchived Message

Vehicle Intermittantly puts ESP light on dash, system is ESP 20 CAN voo5 (not mk60). Have checked for codes on modis and vag com and both show 2 fault codes,
01423 lateral acceleration sensor g200 problem in electrical circuit - problem occurs intermittant
01423 lateral acceleration sensor g200 not a plausable signal - fault occurs intermittant.
Have found and scoped the sensor (3 wires 5v, earth and a 2.5 volt analogue output), no probs apart from earth signal a bit noisy. (although fault has not occured while ive had the car)
Now to my problem..... Vag com and scope shows the sensors output as 2.5 volts stationary at idle......is this correct? also assuming this was a sensor problem (and looking at the archives there was a similar post to this where a new sensor cured the car, but that was mk60)the lat sensor comes with the yaw at a cost of £324 + vat from dealers, would a new sensor on esp 20 need adaption (ive looked on ross tec website and only shows adaption procedure for mk60) Sorry for the long post, any help greatly received vern
