However, just a quick look on iatn and it seems like they are seeing similar issues in the States, ususally on the VTEC engines that have been driven very hard and over-reved (i.e. selecting wrong gear) especially when combined with poor servicing (tensioner failing).
Shame they went to chains because we only ever had one timing belt snap on a Honda and that was only because it had done twice the number of miles on it that it should have (120K instead of 60K).
