As usual, customer needed car back, he was a little unhappy that the service and MOT which it was in for were not done in a day. They think their car has nothing wrong with it and if you find anything wrong they arent happy, especially if they dont have their car for a couple days, lol.

Stuck a CAT on it, went through the emissions and passed the retest on the MOT, as you would expect. It still drove a little flat below 1500rpm (although it did rev to 5500rpm nicely on the road and didnt hold back with the MPH) though and i wasnt happy with the emissions.

The lambda sensors were a light brown, the plugs looked good, no indication the system is running rich, yet the gases say it is. Suspect a restricted exhaust or as you say an airflow sensor problem, although live data looked good apart from the O2 sensor staying around 800mV on fast idle with the occasional blip to 100mV or there abouts.

Am i doing something wrong searching this web site, lol, i did search the archives for this problem, only came back with a couple little posts, one suggested (i think) the purge canister valve on the side of the air intake, i checked that and its ok, i checked the PCV valve and thats ok.

As soon as i fix it i will let everyone know.
