03 Smart Roadster instrument fault I think ? Archived Message

Hi All, I could do with some help with this one, it’s only used on sunny days so that’s not much! And the battery had been left to go flat we have fit a new Bosch battery.
    It’s a 2003 Smart Roadster.
    Engine code:160.921
    Mileage: 28499.
    Vin No: VME4524342L012860.
    System type: Bosch ME-SFI.
    Semi automatic.

Symptoms: The warning lamps on the instrument panel are permanently lit and the trip meter and the fuel gauge are flashing. The engine will run at idle but surges when the accelerator is applied. And it’s a flappy type gear change but it will not select drive and there is no indication of which gear you are in on the instrument panel.
I have tested with my Delphi scan tool.

    In the Engine Controller.
    P2039 Lateral Acceleration Sensor Permanent.
    P200D CAN Communication ESP Permanent.
P2060 CAN Error steering wheel gear shift.
    P204C Rough Road detection permanent.
The DTCs will clear but return .

    No Communication with the ABS.

    In the ESP Controller.
    C1503 CAN-Bus Permanent.

No Communication with the instrument panel
    .
    In the Multifunction SAM
B1017 CAN message diagnosis from instrument cluster is missing.
B1015 Can message kilometer reading from instrument cluster is missing.
B1021 CAN no message from instrument cluster.
    B1019 CAN communication ESP permanent.
B1016 CAN message diagnosis from instrument is missing.
B1101 Crash sensor has short circuit to ground.
B1111 Unlocking operation failer due to interruption.
The DTCs will clear but B1015 B1016 B1021 B1019 returned.

    In EPS.
C1501 Vehicle speed signal no signal permanent.

I have checked all fuses including the ones on top of the fuse box and I have scoped the Diagnostic socket for a CAN signal but it’s not present. I think its looking like a feed fault or a fault of the instrument cluster but I need a wiring diagram, and there is not much on Autodata. Any information would be a great help. Martin.
