This car has an intermittent problem with cutting out and losing power like fuel starvation, i haven't got a suitable scanner for this model and the led flash code system doesn't show up any useful codes.

Anyway another person has looked at it after me and they couldn't fix it either so it came back to me, i scoped/checked every usual sensor and nothing could be found to be faulty but after some research it seemed a common fault for the throttle body to be faulty so replaced but no difference.

Borrowed another distributor no improvement (i scoped it before and couldn't fault it but not to good with the scope yet) so i replaced the ecu with a good 2nd hand unit and it cured the fault for 2 months but now has returned.

Its got the exact same problem but now worse but doesn't do it as often as before but this time i'm convinced its over fueling and the cooling fan behave oddly, it will cut in fro 2 seconds then turn off then switch on as normal so we wiggled the ECT connections and this altered the fan operation but you couldn't do consistently.

I then decided to simulate the ECT sensor and i could reproduce the fault with the car losing power and cutting out by making the ecu think the engine is cold (richen up mixture which is shown by the gas readings).

I'm 100% sure the ecu is doing its job as the car idle speed alters when i'm simulating ECT command so i replaced the sensor with an aftermarket one but i'm not sure its the correct 1 as the car has the same fault.

New sensor is red top but the old one is blue top, my usual motor factor says only 1 listed but another said 2 types red top or blue top, could this be the difference (your experience) or do you think there's another fault i've missed.

Didn't use genuine as my Nissan dealer are useless and wouldn't even stock spark plugs for it and take 3 days to order it.
